Oopart is a term that comes from the English acronym "Out Of Place Artifacts" (objects or artifacts out of place). It was coined by the American naturalist and cryptozoologist Ivan Sanderson to give a name to a category of objects that seem to have a difficult historical context, i.e. they would be an anachronism. All those archaeological or paleontological finds that, according to common beliefs about the past, it is assumed they could not have existed in the age to which they relate the initial dating, are classified as oopart
These findings started the mysterious strand of archeology or pseudo-archeology. The scientific community has never found in such objects, items or evidence that make them appear to be "out of the time", relegating the interpretations to highlight alleged anachronisms in the field of pseudoscience. In fact many oopart received an interpretation very much in line with the current knowledge of archeology and science. There are many cases that have not an answer , and this is due to the fact that nobody have not yet understood the type of use about an object or the description of the object appears smoky and incorrect or the owner of the object is unknown and so there are doubts about its effective existence.The alleged scientific validity of OOPart
According to the interpretations of some OOPart supporters some of these items would put a strain on scientific theories and consolidated historical knowledge. However, only in rare cases these claims had the support of science, such objects can be later explained as actually belonging to the time when they were manufactured without any knowledge of historical facts may be questioned. The Antikythera mechanism is known as the oldest mechanical calculator. Dating from around 150-100 BC, it is a sophisticated planetarium, driven by toothed wheels, which was used to calculate the sunrise, moon phases, the movements of the five planets known, the equinoxes, months, days of the week and - according to a recent study published on Nature -the dates of the Olympic Games. It takes its name from the Greek island of Antikythera where it was discovered on the Antikythera wreck, the remains of a shipwreck in the second quarter of the first century BC, containing, along with numerous objects of that time, even the "machine" . In a place called Hatun Rumiyoc there are huge complex built with blocks of diorite , many of them weighing several tons , modeled with a precision that would seem to be incompatible with many technologies of the time. Although the archeology officer confers these buildings to the Incas , the difference between the buildings " on a human scale " put in place with the help of mortar, and the gigantic compositions puzzles that arise in the neighborhood also cast doubt over the scholars . However, being unsuitable for dating ( it is impossible to test the exact date of the implementation of the stones and their size ) to the scientific community do not constitute any evidence of the existence of other civilizations. In the different sites you can see also some structures realized with measures other than building standards . The doors are in fact of trapezoidal shape and with a height which is usually around three meters. The official explanation is that many cultures often built porches or structures larger than normal to strike an impression of solemnity and grandeur. Here is what it is considered the most important finding among those found in the whole area of the South Seas, the ruins of a large temple, a structure measuring 90 meters in length and 18 in width , with walls, that in 1874, were nine meters high and at ground level had a thickness of one meter and a half. On the walls are still visible remains of engravings representing many sacred symbols of Mu . The building had canals and ditches, undergrounds, steps and platforms, all constructed in basalt stone. It is not known which people and which technologies have been used to built it.
