Family forced to flee dream home after 6,000 deadly spiders 'bleed out of walls'

The horrifying spiders terrorised a US family for four years before they eventually caved and evacuated their home

A family was driven to pack up and leave their home when thousands of spiders fell from the ceiling and oozed through the walls.

Brian and Susan Trost bought the hell house back in 2007 for a whopping €350,000 but didn't realise they were sharing with thousands of creepy crawlies.

The house - in an exclusive country club neighbourhood in Missouri - was once the family's dream home but soon became the stuff of nightmares when Susan began to spot spiders everywhere.

Mum Susan told KMOV: "It was shortly after we moved in they started bleeding out of the walls."

She said she saw spiders fall from the ceiling, in the mini blinds, in the fireplaces and revealed that their skeletons would fall from ceiling lights or on top of them in the shower.

After capturing one of the little monsters the family looked it up on the internet - only to discover it was a brown recluse spider.

This specimen can bite and cause pain, itching, nausea and swelling and in extreme cases even organ failure and death.

After four years of torture, the Trosts eventually surrendered their home to the spiders.

An expert who visited the home estimated that there was up to 4,500 - 6,000 spiders present, the St Louis Post Dispatch reports.

The devastated family - who say they were completely unaware of the spider invasion when they bought the property - took a lawsuit against the former owners.

The jury awarded the couple a sum of $472,000 but the previous owners declared bankruptcy.

The house of horrors is now owned by the Federal National Mortgage Association and is being tented and fumigated this week.

Workers covered it with nine tarps and pumped in a gas that can permeate walls to kill the spiders and their eggs.
