In many cases, less is more, and that rule perhaps now applies to tattoos too. Minimalistic designs seem to be all the rage among young Koreans, and their passion for simple beauty extends to the permanent art they ink themselves with. Heavily shaded dragons and skulls are so passé, youngsters these days are getting themselves miniature tattoos that are simple and chic, and probably won’t cost a bomb to laser away if they decide they don’t want it anymore. Seoul-based tattoo artist Seoeon, in particular, seems to be gaining some popularity with her neat “line tattoos”. Check them out after the break!

I have once considered getting a tattoo, but decided not to as I was not sure if I wanted to live the rest of my life with a part of me permanently inked with a design that I chose during one of the most immature, rebellious phases of my life. I’m guessing there are quite a number of you out there who had the same considerations as I did.

If it’s something as dainty as these designs by Seoeon, however, I would probably have crossed the hurdle of uncertainty with ease.

Seoeon’s work has definitely changed my impression of tattoos. It’s easy to see why tattoos of such style are gaining popularity. Even if, say, 40 wrinkly years down the road you regret having gotten that tattoo, all you’d have to deal with are some wriggled lines that are reminiscent of your younger days when you were still a naive and trend-seeking youth, instead of a faded tribal tattoo or a frumpy tiger that screams of your sorta-rebellious past.

Of course, Seoeon does bigger tattoos too, but her signature style of simple, clean lines are evident in most of her work. Check out more of tattooist Seoeon’s masterpieces on her Blog: http://seoeonmo.blog.me/
