The Green Eyes (Los Ojos Verdes)

Green eyes is one of the stories that come from the book of legends written in 1861 by Gustavo Adolfo Becquer. It discusses the female spirits of the water.

    Iņigo was a huntsman.

One day during a hunt, Fernando, his Lord, wounded a deer that took refuge in a place known as "The Poplars Source", a source in which it was said an evil spirit lived . Fernando was willing to follow it.

Iņigo warned him that the place was haunted and asked him to consider lost the prey but the proud Fernando decided anyway to get into that dangerous place to recover the deer.

Days later, Inigo asked his master why was so sad and pale, as if something worried him, and what occupied all the hours he spent each day at The Poplar Source.

Fernando replied that in that wonderful place he had seen, among the drops of dew, two beautiful green eyes that had captured him and could not help but go back to see them every day.

Iņigo, full of horror and terror, warned him that woman was actually a demon who wanted to take possession of his soul, but Fernando did not listen.

One day, on the shore of the source, Fernando came face to face with the mysterious woman and totally enchanted he confessed that even if she had been a demon he would love her for eternity ... and was dragged into the river.
