The brain exposes the liars in half a second

To recognize Pinocchio did not need a long nose. Our brain perceives him alone, in a fraction of a second. It was discovered by the University of Parma and San Diego in a joint effort that saw the observation of the reactions of some volunteers (30 students) are invited to evaluate the presence of any “Liars” just looking at a series of photos in slide.

Everything about the area ventromedial frontal-orbio of our brain that incorporates those changes in 330 milliseconds infinitesimal gaze and expression that are typical of someone who is lying. The brain works as a polygraph but much faster, making a difficult math equation to compare compliance between facial expression and the words you are saying.

    Brain exposed

For example, if a person smiles and appreciates the gift that you just did, but his gaze is changing rapidly losing “Brightness” probably does not appreciate at all and is lying to please you. Or if a person looks away too often while confirming some things probably those things are not true or has not occurred, as well as tells. We do not realize it right away, because it happens so fast you do not give us time to process information but the rapid sense of unease we feel in front of those signs really makes us realize that something is wrong and we should take the words of one who stands before us with pliers.
